Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Does Treatment Take?

Typical cases take between 18 and 30 months, depending on the difficulty. After Dr. Kuzmic has had a chance to review your records and develop your individualized treatment plan, he will tell you your estimated treatment time. Diligent brushing and flossing, as well as following Dr. Kuzmic’s instruction, will ensure that your treatment is completed in a timely and predictable manner.

Does Orthodontic Treatment Hurt?

Just like you are sore the next day after a workout, your teeth will be mildly sore after new wires or aligners are given. That’s because the teeth moving through the jaws requires inflammation! That being said, the soreness is mild and goes away after a few days. Dr. Kuzmic primarily uses light, continuous forces to help create the most pain-free experience possible.

How Often Are My Appointments?

Dr. Kuzmic will typically see you every 4-6 weeks depending on what stage you are in your treatment. In the beginning stages, your appointments may be as much as 8 weeks apart, at the end, they may be as close as 4 weeks apart.
